I can’t attend every week. Is that O.K.?
It is preferable to attend at often as possible to gain the full benefits of the weekly networking meetings. Getting together regularly with the group means we are able to discuss any issues we may have experienced during the week, with a view to problem solving and also gaining an insight into differing business practises and adapting successful proven management techniques. So as you can see lead generation is only one part of our networking meetings with regular attendance being vital to your ongoing success.
How many times can I attend before committing?
You may attend the Business Networx Breakfast meeting 3 times prior to committing to join our group. Of course if you decide to apply for membership after your 1st or 2nd visit, this is certainly acceptable.
Do I have to speak publicly when I attend as a visitor?
Yes, you will be given 60 seconds to share a brief outline of your business and the services that you offer.
This is a great way for you to become more confident with public speaking.

If I don’t attend, do I need to pay?
The cost of breakfast is invoiced each quarter in advance, and no adjustment is made for any breakfasts that you miss. If you know you are going to be away for an extended period of time (i.e. holiday or parental leave) you are able to put your membership on hold for one quarter. Alternatively, consider sending a substitute in your place.
Is there an annual membership fee?
Our membership fee is paid quarterly and billed in advance at the beginning of each quarter, which also include our breakfast cost.
Do I have to stand up and speak very often?
Every Member will have the opportunity to present to the group a 10 minute presentation about their business and what they do. This is done on a roster system. This is a great learning experience and after you have been a member for a while you will feel comfortable within the group which will make this process easier.
At each meeting, each member will be given 60 seconds to promote their business and ask for referrals to their business.

I’m going on holidays, do I have to send a substitute?
We understand that we all need holidays to recharge. While we encourage you to send a representative along to represent your business while you are on holidays – there is no requirement to have a substitute attend in your absence.
I’ve been ask to be a substitute – now what?
As a substitute you are encouraged to stand up and give a 60 second presentation about your business during which time you will have the opportunity to ask for referrals, however, if you are unsure about what to say about your business, your invitee may provide you with a script about their business for you to read out.
Am I expected to refer to every member?
No, there is no expectation that you will have referrals for all members of the group. We understand that you are more likely to find referrals for those members whose businesses are more closely aligned to your own line of work and have seen some very strong referral relationships built this way. However, it’s amazing how spending some 1-1 time getting to know each of the other group members and their businesses, no matter how far removed it may seem from your own, tends to result in the identification of referrals that you may not otherwise have thought of. We’ve even had some great examples of businesses within the group using each other’s products and services for such things as thank you gifts to their own clients.
Will I be competing against other businesses who offer the same service or product as mine?
Only one person from each professional classification is permitted to join Business Networx which is a unique, key element to the group ethos. In other words, you are not competing against others in the same field as yours for referrals.
